Dominion Atlantic Railway Budd Rail Diesel Car RDC-1 No. 9058.
Built July 1956
Budd Serial no. 6317
RDC No. 9058 and its sister unit No. 9059 were the first "Dayliners" on the DAR inaugurating the Evangeline RDC passenger service in 1956. They were the only RDCs lettered for the DAR and were in fact the only RDCs factory lettered for a CPR subsidiary line.
On Saturday October 30, 1965 (2), No. 9058 was involved in a head on crash with a Burro crane at Coldbrook. The Chroncile-Herald reported the accident on the front page on November 11, 1965. The impact dislodged seats from the floor according to the conductor on that run, Albert "Shine" Manning. It was sent to Montreal for repairs and No. 9057 was sent in to replace it. Photographic evidence indicates (1) that this was before April 1966.
Currently in use by VIA Rail on E&N line on Vancouver Island as No. 6133.
