Virtual Railway Modelling

Set in the mid seventies, the route from Annapolis Royal to Windsor Junction, including the Steam Mills spur (the old CVR) and from Windsor to Brooklyn (the old Midland), and has been faithfully recreated by Paul Charland, a talented Microsoft Train-Sim developer, who started creating it in March 2009). This was a labour of love and it shows.

There is marvelous detail in all the D.A.R. town but in particular, the towns of Windsor, Wolfville and Kentville are especially accurate and well detailed. The line is fully populated with many historical structures such as the Kentville Cornwallis Inn, Grand Pré Park, the DAR Kentville, Wolfville, Hantsport, Middleton, Lawrencetown and Annapolis Royal stations as well as many unique DAR rolling stock items such as DAR lettered Dayliners, ALCO S3's and gypsums cars as well as the ubiquitous EMD SW1200s and many other standard rolling stock pieces with numbers as spotted on the DAR throughout the years.

The simulation can be run with the original MSTS software and now will run as well on (free!) Open Rails software.
