One of only two RDCs factory lettered for a CPR subsidiary line, No. 9059 being the second unit.

On Saturday October 30, 1965 (2), No. 9058 was involved in a head on crash with a Burro crane. The impact dislodged seats from the floor according to the conductor on that run, Albert "Shine" Manning. It was sent to Montreal for repairs and No. 9057 was sent in to replace it. Photographic evidence indicates (1) that this was before April 1966.
