Air Base Support

The D.A.R. served two airports on it's lines, The R.C.A.F. Stanley air training base on the Truro subdivision, in which operations peaked in WW II and the R.C.A.F. Greewood air base that is still operational today.

R.C.A.F. Greenwood, 19?? until Present

The base was served by a wye and a long spur starting at Auburn and ending at the north-east end of the base where the fuel storage area still is.

Two major types of loads were handled; parts for aircraft and tank cars carring a variety of petroleum products for the base. The number of car movements per year in and out of the base were largely a function of the number of patrols and exercises scheduled for that year for the aircraft.

Personel movements where handled out of the Kingston station where R.C.A.F. vehicles would meet the trains and then drive air force personel back to the base.
