Paul Bushnell and I did another DAR display at Kingsport Gala Days on June 25. The community hall is in an old general stores just a few feet from the old DAR line. We're both had displays of our models-in-progress of the Kingsport line in HO scale. I also ran my G scale DAR train set and set up a lap top with the DAR DPI.
Heard some good stories, like how boys used to sneak into the DAR freight shed on the wharf to smoke cigarets and eat watermelon - by crawling up the two-holer privy in the shed from underneath the wharf! And my people love to tell you about going to school on the train. Here's some photos.
