Very sad news for the Nova Scotia railway community. Andrew Underwood reports and Will Lawrence on the Atlantic Rails group passes it on that Jay Underwood passed away this evening.
Jay has been the heart and soul of the Nova Scotia Railway Heritage Society, an accomplished author and journalist and just a heck of a great guy. He will be sorely missed.
We pass our condolences on to the Underwood family from all at the DARDPI site and offer anything that might be helpful or fitting in Jay's memory.

How sad. Jay never stopped trying and kept the public face of railway heritage alive. I admire his publishing legacy and quiet determination to do the right thing.
