Kentville biologist Mark Elderkin has kindly given me permission to add some nice vintage DAR shots from his lovely blog which is worth checking out for the vintage postcards - and the wonderful nature shots. (Should help make the ex patriot Nova Scotians homesick!):

I am pretty sure this is the first DAR Yarmouth-Halifax train on October 1, 1894 which was pulled by No. 18. The well-dressed family look like they have gathered to watch the occassion and it has the same consist as the official photo:

Does anyone know the location? Mark says it is near Digby, and it looks that way, but I am not sure what viewpoint.
