How's this... but not the color. Corel did some kind of update a few weeks ago and screwed up the color chart. I reinstalled Corel 10 that actually works just in time for Corel to update everyone's fonts to v16 because too many people were going back to older versions... so it's the artwork that's important here, created right on top of the tender photo.
Hard to believe that background color is supposed to be R1, G1, B1 "Black".
OK, after a lot of screwing around I found I now have to export files as CMYK (32-bit color) even though the file was created as a RGB (16-bit color) file.
Original photo is a beaut. Thanks to J.A. MacIntosh.
Extracted artwork is equally awesome. That is one excellent rendition Paul. Thanks! Now you'll have to change your avatar too.
Would love it if we filed a copy of this as a PNG with just black foreground and the clear alpha channel so decals and the like could be made from it for people's locomotives.
I think I'd like to cup black this time just like a tender.
I just received an email from the museum and they want some more mugs. Do you think we can get this going for them? They need to know the cost and where they can order them from. Brian?
Should also change to the new graphic so it's a little different from the original so people how have the old mugs have some reason to buy again... sort of like the hockey teams changing jersey designs to keep selling to the same people!
I was also thinking this could be on a black mug to make a difference.
We'll have to come up with something different for the third mug, maybe change the lettering font to match the herald used on the inspection car on a maroon mug.
As for the rivets, can't remember drawing any, so good luck with that!
I'm hoping Brian will see this soon so I can get the ordering info from him to pass back to the museum.
If they had some kind of litho plate or silk for doing mugs and stored them for customers then this second run would not cost anything but setup and run. If there were changes and the silk or litho plate was made every time, then again, there shouldn't be too much of a charge for any and all changes.
I guess since the museum wants to order them they will get their choice of colour. I'll ask.
Sorry I haven't been in on this thread for a while. I am President of our Condo Board and we are negotiating the contract for door replacement this year plus I have been on holidays for a month and running around getting things organized for when my wife has knee replacement surgery on September 16th. My son Tom just placed an order for 72 more mugs at Janets request. I just found this out. This was approved by the Museum's Board of Directors. No change was made to the art work but the mugs themselves are slightly diferent because the old ones are no longer available. The question now is, do we want to order some more for them in the black colour using updated graphics or pitch in to pay for the mugs that have already been ordered.

I just sent you an email. Is the order already being processed? Impossible to stop? Would it cost more to change?
I'm also think that at this point, because they have committed to order the mugs themselves that we simply order from the museum as we did before and include a nice donation.
The order is on hold. Paul, can you send the graphic file for the logo to Tom's e-mail. tom@tgraphics.ca
"We" need to contact Helen Rodgers at the museum and work out the details on this order. Once that is done, one person needs to be designated the spokesperson in regards to ordering as we can't have multiple people giving directions about colour, artwork, order size, etc. to Tom. We can order maroon and black mugs in the same order as long as we are ordering a minimum total of 72. Tom no longer works with the same company as when the first order was placed. He is now independent and his company is called T Graphics. The order will be placed with the same supplier as the original order. If there are to be any variations to the standard mug, Tom suggested that maybe a promotions company local to one of our members or the museum would be able to show actual samples of their mugs.

I'll send the graphic to Tom now, that much will be gone and then you can figure the rest out. Two colors usually means running the mugs through the printing process twice... usually meaning doubling the price. Maybe things have changed though, been a while since I was involved with this stuff.
