I like the mug idea the best. I only picked up one and wished I had gotten a couple more

Well then perhaps the same mug as before then because the artwork is already done and with a single colour is a lot cheaper to print.

If we said mug, who would object?

I'd want a mug, though a t-shirt might be nice too!

Mugs sell at these types of attractions like Memory Lane Museum. People collect them and one size fits all and every man woman and child on this earth uses one for water, tea, coffee or hot chocolate. You could use the 'other side' stencil so you would have matching cups like the stencils for the tenders . Remember Evangeline faced forwards on both sides of the tender, so two different stencils. Being right handed I would like the DAR logo facing outwards.

Just my 2¢ worth.

Lets just do the mugs again then. After all, it's for the museum and they were good sellers. Plus all the artwork is ready to go already.

We need to call an end to the discussion and get underway. I'll resurrect the same procedure as the last time which worked well.

Is this good for you Brian?

Sounds good to me. We just need to know how many to order. If we are going to sell them through the museum again and we are paying the upfront cost I think it might be an idea to order extras. I belong to the Ottawa Valley Association of Railroaders or OVAR for short and I am quite sure I could sell a bunch at our retail price and pass the profit on to the museum. Brian Lilly

Hi All,

Just a thought about the mug idea.

Last time I did buy two mugs, one I've kept in a display cabinet, the other gets used every day. Although the one that gets used has never seen the inside of a dishwasher, washing by hand has left me with a maroon mug with next to no logo! Maybe that's something that can be addressed before the next batch gets printed.

The multi-colour logo would look great but I think might run the price up. Usually every time something gets printed in more then one color there is extra charges, you'd want to check into that.

An alternative might be the same yellow logo from the first batch printed on a black mug as DAR steam engines were black after they were maroon.

I agree with Paul. My logo has all kinds of scratches in it, and I was careful when I hand washed it. A more robust print or some sort of sealer would be ideal.

On another note, I came up with a pretty cool promotional idea. You know those prints that go on the back windows of pick up trucks with deer, the star spangled banner and an eagle, etc? How about the Bear River Bridge with a train and the Kentville or Middleton station? Pretty sweet, eh?

The first time we did this the idea was to keep the cost down so that the profit margin for the museum would be the highest possible. I'm sure we can get higher quality but at a higher cost. I like the idea of going black this time too. I'll look into the window sticker as well. Brian

Hi All,

Thought I'd through a couple of designs out there, just because. The first would be two colours on a black mug, plus some sort of crystal coat to protect the printed finish. The second is one colour on a black mug and again, some sort of clear protected finish.

Image

Just an idea, the yellow logo is the same art work I provided for the first mugs although the "Dominion Atlantic Railway" is in a different font... that can be change if the other font is more desirable.

I'd take one of each though also for me a white background with black text for a white coffee mug would be good too!

I think I like the redone logo better. It's bolder, shorter, rounder and fatter than the last one. Are those all real words? By the way, I read the darn logo multiple times but don't see any speeling mistak.

Would you be able to reduce the font just a bit to get the same spacing between the words as the tender herald:

And could you extract the Evangeline from the tender herald as she has a lot more detail and a better facial expression?

Hi Steve,

I just saved a copy of the tender photo and can work from it. Don't think this was available years ago when I did the logo's I've supplied, it pretty much a perfect image to work from other then the rivet line.

I must confess, Ric did spot a spelling mistake and I did replace the first one I posted, oh the humanity!

Paul :-)
