DAR Beta 2.2

Post by Paul Charland »

Hi All,

This beta includes the remains of the Kingsport Spur, about two miles. The beta can be downloaded from:

http://www.gigasize.com/get.php?d=o1l39vqg1nd

In my rush to post the beta and be finished in time for a TV program I failed to package the Kentville Yard activity (which is just a test run up to Aldershot). If you wish to run this you'll need to unzip this 1 KB con file and add it to your Consist folder:
Kentville Yard.zip
(451 Bytes) Downloaded 33 times
I'll post a few screenies tomorrow.

Paul :-)

Hi Steve,

You have to watch this stuff, I had my first real spyware ever last week. Mozilla.org has been pretty safe, they recommended an add on for fast video downloading. Noticed a day later that whenever I opened Firefox I had to wait while something was uploading. After seeing stuff was being uploaded to GoDaddy and Amazon I ran my anti-virus/spyware programs and they didn't find anything. Finally started removing things and found this fast video download program was causing my problems.

The link to Gigasize is not working. Do I need to create a password? I haven't checked on the sim for some time, but it looks awesome!

Is there any interest in creating an RS-18u hauling 10 car ballast trains? I don't care that its out of the era modeled.

Hi Matt and All,

Beta 2.2 is no longer available, the current beta is 2.7 located at:

http://www.gigasize.com/get.php?d=8hf5r202mpd

IMPORTANT:

You will need to unzip the file,

copy and paste the file in the ROUTE folder of the sim,

Open the Activities folder and double click on the three apk files to install the activities. This will install the consist, path, services, and traffic files. They are required to be there for the route to show up in the route selection window of the game.

You will also need to download the required rolling stock to get the activities to work.

If you haven't used the game in a while or are just installing it for the first time you will need to install the game from the two CDs in the box.

You will also have to download and install a few other programs/files, all are free but without them you will get errors.

1 Goto the following and scroll down to the bottom of the page where you will find three downloads. You'll need the first to get the game to work, the third for North American equipment to work. The second is optional if you think you might want to use British Rail routes and equipment.

http://steam4me.railpage.org.au/trainsi ... S_Updates/

2 Goto the following and get BIN, this will improve a few things in the general operation of trains and also allow you to switch cabs in some activities.

http://mstsbin.uktrainsim.com/eng/eng.html

3 Goto the following and enter newroads.zip in the file name search,

http://www.trainsim.com/file.php?cm=SEARCH

4 Go back to the same search engine at Trainsim.com and enter xtracks.zip in the file name search.

That should about do it.

Paul :-)
