I am seeking former employees – any position – of the Dominion Atlantic Railway, defunct railway in Nova Scotia, who are willing to share their stories. I am also interested in stories from former employees of defunct railroads in Ontario, e.g., New York Central, Chesapeake and Ohio, Wabash, London and Port Stanley, and Toronto Hamilton and Buffalo, and in stories from retired teachers and professors. Anyone interested can contact me by email and I shall send a questionnaire with directions. These short stories will be for my personal collection and that of the submitter – not for publication. I have collected more than 225 stories of people in several countries.
I am originally from Elgin County, Ontario, and have taught in three of the five provinces where I have lived. Our family has also lived in USA and Mexico. My two military books can be seen in the Annapolis Valley Regional Library, in Nova Scotia, and in numerous libraries in seven other provinces. All of our books can be seen in Surrey Public Library System in British Columbia.
I am currently on the board of the railroad museum in Middleton, NS, and have served on the former Age of Steam in Dallas, TX.
