Living DAR Fireman

Just got an email from Bernie Acker. Please contact me if you'd like to speak with him and I'll give you his email address.

Bernie writes:

My father was a fireman with the DAR out of Annapolis Royal. We lived in the last house next to the station. As a boy I remember waiving to the men from our window who would acknowledge my presence with a toot as they went by.

I am curious to know if there may be others still alive that may know him and would like to share experiences with him. Every so often he speaks of various associates that he knew. His name is William 'Bill' Acker and was with the DAR for about the last 14 years. He may have been one of the youngest on staff and is still alive at the age of 83. (His age was ... mistaken when he joined.)

I've checked the DARwiki site a number of times over the last year or so for any message boards or more information about the employees of DAR with disappointment. I have enjoyed some of the photos posted especially those of the Annapolis station.
