When did General Manager George E. Graham leave the DAR?

Post by Dan Conlin »

Does anyone know when General Manager George E. Graham left the Dominion Atlantic Railway? All the usual sources say he started in 1915 but I can't find any reference to his departure. Strange, as he was a very important guy starting the Grand Pre Park, all those DAR hotels and overseeing the peak years of DAR traffic.
I think he was replaced by J.C. McCuaig sometime in the 1940s or 50s but I don't know the year.

I tried Google Books and got a few hits. Look at the 2nd hit:

And the second one here:

McCuaig came in 1955 and left the DAR in 1964?

Interesting collection of downloadable PDFs of Railway and Locomotive Engineering magazines from years ago. Probably lots of DAR stuff. I'm going to DL them all and peruse them later.

Wow Dan, this site is a gold mine. Check out these historical documents from the Windsor & Annapolis:

Great stuff Steve. That McNabb report is terrific. Interesting rundown on Kentville shop facilities and fascinating details on long-gone bridges. Jay Underwood dug up retirement and death dates for Graham from some online sources so I have done up a quick bio.
