I'm going to ask everyone who has not already looked at this project of Paul Charland's to think about supporting the effort he is puttting into this by running the route on your PC and checking it out. If you have never wandered into our MSTS forum area, you need to cruise in and check out the many messages full of screen shots from the simulator:

I have "shopped" some of the views around to different folks and they're blown away to see the DAR in operation and how realistic it looks even in its digital form.
The basic requirement to run the DAR route on your computer is to install the Microsoft Train Simulator program in the first place. This is no longer an off the shelf item but can easily be found on a number of grey market sites like eBay or Amazon:

The second is to install the most current DAR route once you have installed the game. That's where we come in as well with our forum support. You're never far away from help in our MSTS forum area where we also have additional cool DAR items like DAR S3 diesels, old CPR vans, the gypsum gondolas and of course the DAR Dayliners all available for download so you can run them on your DAR route.

Re: The MSTS DAR
Just an additional note that my MSTS is terminally ill and refuses to work on my new W7Pro 64 bit system. When it did run briefly, it only got jerky frame rate rates of 7-15 on the DAR route. Then Paul mentioned Open Rails. I though OR was just a pipe dream but here it is and it runs beautifully. It's still in development so there are a few bugs here and there and a few compatibility issues but with frame rates on the DAR at 55 plus, this has got to be the future of MSTS routes.
Google "Open Rails" and download it yourself. The only thing required are the MSTS files and directory structure. Open Rails doesn't even have to be installed. Just copy it to wherever you prefer and run it!
If some one needs some help getting OR up and running, give us a holler here and we'll hash our way through making sure that all can enjoy the DAR on their own PC.
