they have some unique and interesting photos that I would like to see on the DARWiki. Usually a few photos can be the tip of the iceberg so I wrote the address from the web site 3 times now and have never received a reply nor confirmation they ever got the email.
Does anyone know anyone down in Bridgetown or would anyone be willing to pop in along the way to somewhere else and engage the locals in a conversation that might bring these photos to the DARWiki?

Re: End of the Line Pub site photos
Steve,
I am hoping to make a trip along the Halifax and Kentville subs next week. As it will be a combined DAR and quilt shops tour, you can imagine how split priorities will fall. None the less, hoping to say hello to Terry in Middleton and call in at the Pub in the former Bridgetown DAR facility before visiting the DAR's former The Pines, Digby and crossing on the former Canadian Pacific Princess of Acadia (II)...have to love those vessels....remours abound that vessel will not be with us too much lomger. So sad, everything is "former".
Are there any things you want me to check on or photograph. Did we get a "yellow" paint chip from the Middleton station? What sort of contact did you wish to establish in Bridgetown? A listing of their photos? etc.
I will see what I can fit in.
Fred

Re: End of the Line Pub site photos
The first message has a link to their page on the site about the station. There are 3 photos there. One we now have (No. 18 on the bridge) but the 2nd and 3rd photos would be quite nice in our wiki. Where's there's one or two often there's more as well.
Can we find out what the source of number 2 and 3 are if there are more similiar?
We have the colour recipe now from the Home hardware store that matched the colour. I just have to get it on the wiki.
Thanks Fred.

Re: End of the Line Pub site photos
Steve,
I had an opportunity to stop at the Pub (strictly research, it was 10:00 a.m.) on June 12, 2009. Made a quick search for, and made notes of, all DAR/CPR photos on the walls. Unfortunately the owner was not available to discuss these and the one employee on duty had no knowledge of the subject.
I could not locate photos 1 and 2 from their website but they did have a nice print of # 3 c1949.
This is a list of the framed photos I located in the Pub; all dimensions are an estimate of the image size not the frame size:
(I)
My description: Bridgetown Station
Size: 10 x 14
Details given: c1930
Source:
My Notes:
(II)
MY description: RDC at Bridgetown Station
Size: 8 x 12
Details given: #9058 August 1, 1956 at Bridgetown. Demonstration Excursion
Source:
My notes: nice image
(III)
My description: Wedge-view, tower-corner Middleton station
Size: 10 x 12
Details given: Middleton Station c1904. Completed 1889 Destroyed by fire 1915.
Source:
My notes: Memory Lane Railway Museum, Middleton has a similar, but smaller, copy of this photograph. Image clearly shows the Spa Springs Hotel to the rear of the station and the Gates Medical Factory at the far end of the station.
(IV)
My description: 2552 at Bridgetown
Size:
Details given: Bridgetown Station 1949
Source:
My notes: Image 3 on the Pub website
(V)
My description: Engine 8 WCR
Size: 10 x 14
Details given: Kentville c1879 Engine 8 Weymouth 4-4-0 WCR operated until 1920 Built Portland Maine.
Source:
My notes: Their print is very similar to Image:WCR-8.jpg in the wiki, with the exception that in their image the building on the right is in shadow, while in the wiki the building has the distinctive, and decorative, exposed frames at the eves so typical of first generation WCR stations. It is quite possible the location in their description is an error.
All five of the above prints are finished and framed in a consistent way, leading one to believe they are from the same source.
I believe Bridgetown is in Annapolis County; the county seat, Annapolis Royal is nearby and has two historical societies, both with a considerable archives of photographs. This maybe the source.
Brian is in Digby-Annapolis Royal this week (after delivering the mugs). I will email with hopes he can make some inquiries.
