DAR Conductor ID

Post by DARMIDLAND »

On October 19,1979 my father and I at age 13 went to Windsor to buy a ticket and ride one of the last Mixed Trains on the Truro Sub back to Truro. We were dropped of by my mother around 8:00pm who would be picking us up at the DAR Willow Street station in Truro about 11:30pm. We boarded the train close to 9:00pm and departed in the dark. It was non-stop until we reached Clifton Station to pick up 4 air dump cars in that siding. Highlights of the trip were riding the caboose before and after stopping in Clifton and even in the cupola. Clifton Station was near my fathers home place so he was able through the 2 World War years enjoy the train traffic and interact with train crews. Trains were large enough at this time as they would stall behind there home on the ruling grade of the Truro Sub. and half the train cut off and taken to Princeport Siding then engines returned for the rest of the train. This allowed for numerous steam cab rides to Princeport and back.
I have a picture the night we rode the Mixed of the Conductor in front of the caboose CP 437131 in Windsor. Anyone know who he is?
