DAR dayliner plans

Post by ageofaquarius21 »

Greetings; I belong to the Atlantic Model Engineering Society which also runs the Trecothic Miniature Train Railway in Windsor. Recently I decided that as I did not have 6 years, 2000 hours and thousands of dollars that surely their must be a way to create a 7 1/4" gage electril or gas powered train to run the rails. I came across the English idea of a steam powered railway car. Then as I got some input from AMES members it dawned on me. Every day, growing up, the DAR dayliner came by just 200 feet away. This was a diesel powered railway car. (this was at the Lower Avonport railway crossing that overlooks the Avon River)

So, I write to see if anyone knows where I can get photos, plans, or perhaps contact those who have made a Dayliner model for the rails. Your advice would be most helpful!

Let us know what comes of it. It sounds like an interesting project! Could be difficult however trying ot match the extruded aluminum exterior. Best best maybe an aluminum door manufacturer.

Consider posting this question on the Yahoo! Group "Budd-RDC" and also on the Facebook RDC group.
