Introduction

Post by SgtBobCdn »

Greetings from Ottawa, just came across your forum last night and figured that I would sign up. I am Robert Greenwood and have been in the Forces for 26 years. I have recently come across the model railroading hobby and have also been out chasing trains with a couple of friends here in Eastern Ontario. I thought that I would like to model the DAR as I was born and have lived in that part of Canada (hope to retire there soon) and thought that there is a lot of history here.

I do have some photos of steam on the DAR that I am more than willing to share, as well as some train orders and other miscellaneous items that I will see about getting online. Please let me know if you have any questions or if I can help in any way.

Hi Bob. Sorry about the delay. Hectic week and all. Just got a new laptop for work and also have to configure and load close to 100 programs to get my workstation fully operational.

Hey, I'm an old RCAF brat myself having lived in Middleton in the 70's while my Dad was in Greenwood.

It great to have you on-board and I hope that you'll find the site fun. Like everybody else, we have real jobs that get in the way of our toys from time to time but we always come back.

I see you've already uploaded these photos to Photoshare and I am literally drooling. We don't even have a page for No. 24, No. 144, No. 903 and No. 1015 yet!!!

OK. For everyone to enjoy these pictures and start to study them as we all love to do, we would like to have them 1500 to 2000 pixels wide. Because they're JPGs, it's important to save them at maximum quality with NO smoothing.

You see, on photoshare the photos are only 640 x 480 and the web site has re-saved them Ito GIF files which means the quality is really low.

Tell you what, email the original scans directly to me and I'll fix them up and get them on in fairly short order.

All I can say again is WOW and thanks for coming on board and sharing this fabulous collection.
