Next week I plan to tick one item off my "bucket list"... a stay at The Pines. DAR's first hotel property, and only true resort, loaned the name of the hotel's main dining room to dining car Annapolis of CPR's The Canadian fame. I understand little of the exterior has changed from 1928 -30... the glass enclosed swimming pool which trapped Babe Ruth late one evening, the nationally acclaimed Stanley Thompson golf course modeled on the "old course' at St Andrews and the two-family bungalows. Hoping to recreate some of the Paul Yates 1930's images of the property. If anyone "from away" would like me to try to get a particular image at The Pines or nearby, let me know.

Wow Fred. Sounds like fun. Maybe you'll discover some real gems inside. Any photos you'd care to upoad would indeed be welcome.

How was your stay Fred? Hope this spring's wretched rain didn't mar the visit? Any of the old pre-war charms still alive? I guess the bell boys can't dip the flag to the SS St. Helene anymore!
