My daughter Holly is attempting to self publish her research on the Midland line she is looking for photos and information that she might not already have that she can publish ... she has special interest in finding photos of the station stanley airport and green oaks as well as cars and engines if anyone has some that might be of interest please email her at holly_r_hanes@msn.com
She is also looking for the name of a man that died in the construction of the bridge in south maitland from a fall not the caisson accident it is believed that the man is buried in green oaks so it is possible a local man...
thanks Heather ps she has a large amount of information on this line so ask questions if you want to know something.
PS she is thinking about filming a few old employees for a video on the line if anyone would be willing to be filmed she also wants to include railway buffs in the video

Re: Midland Rail Line
Hi there,
First, let me say its nice to see women interested in railway history.
Try the the Middleton Museum. They have a large photo collection. Also, the Musquodoboit Harbour Museum but you will have to sit tight until they open June 1st. Also try the museum at South Maitland in the caboose.
As to the killed construction worker, I suggest checking newspapers of the day. Also, try the geanology societies.
I read in one of the "Images of our Past" books published by Nimbus, that the Midland was built by the Reids who also built the Newfoundland Railway.
Perhaps researching the bridge company might be of use.
Hope this helps. Looking forward to your daughter's findings!
