Derailment in Annapolis Royal Railyard on May 7, 1922. Viable is box car No. 106308 and a fine example of an early private tank car. Note the Imperial Oil car number is IOX2058 and the frame has Imperial Oil painted on it, probably intended for Annapolis Royal's Imperial Oil Bulk Plant.
- From a postcard by J.C. Hayward.
- Doug Shaffner collection.
Locomotive No. 25, Strathcona, with a westbound DAR express at Annapolis Royal making a stop at the Annapolis Royal Station circa 1920 with the freight shed behind the station as well. The storage tank in the Imperial Oil Bulk Plant in the background is lettered for "Premier Gasoline". The long storage building to the left of the tank remained there for years later in photos. It was actually the old W&AR Annapolis Royal Enginehouse in the days before the the "missing link" was completed. Note the horse with a "sloven" (a low bed wagon) picking up a steamer trunk.
The photograph is similar to the No. 25 Strathcona view at the station, R85.jg and may have been taken the same day.
