James Twaddle and his wife Irma ran a general store and the post office on Lovett Road in Coldbrook. James Twaddle photographed railway activity around Coldbrook, notably the operation of the mail hook near the Coldbrook Station which allowed postal cars to grab mail bags from DAR express passenger trains. His photography of the last mail train on the DAR on August 14, 1956 was widely printed and published. Photos used with permission of Charlie Twaddle.
