DAR Locomotive No. 999 takes water at the Windsor Water Tower with an eastbound passenger train, sporting its new custom DAR paint scheme with the silver smoke box front and maroon boiler and cab, photographed by Charles McBride. The photo is undated but the silver smoke box front indicate the photo was after this colour scheme was introduced in 1938[1] and before the wartime reversion to all-black in the early 1940s.
