The Admiral Digby Museum is a project of the Admiral Digby Library & Historical Society. The Society operates the museum in Digby, N.S.

The mission of the Admiral Digby Library & Historical Society is to encourage research in, and awareness of, the history of the Town of Digby and Digby County through the Admiral Digby Museum.

And accordingly, the mission and mandate of the Admiral Digby Museum is:
To enrich community knowledge and awareness of the history, heritage and culture of the Town of Digby and Digby County.
The mandate of the Admiral Digby Museum is to study, preserve and make available to the public the history of the Town of Digby and Digby County.

The Admiral Digby Museum is a member of the Association of Nova Scotia Museums (ANSM). The Association has an access website called NovaMuse.ca which displays photographs and allows use of these photographs with the following requirements: "Image use must be for education or personal purposes only. The contributing institution must be credited."
