"Richard McLearn became station agent in 1859, a position held by the McLearn family until 1932. This station in the photographs we have was built in 1884, between the tracks and the present day Fleet House. Mrs. Ida Robinson, Richard's daughter also managed to raise her large family in the living accomodations. In the foreground you can see a but if the store. Around 1954 Allen Benedict went through his paces to become telegrapher and station agent. He returned in 1959 to act in these capacities and was there until the late 1960's. The Old Mines Road was near the station and led the way for the stage coach to travel twice a day to the mines." ^[1]
