Aylesford Water Tower

Mile, across from the Aylesford Station on the south side of the tracks. Originally a square water tank, the Aylesford water tank saved the village in the 1920s when it provided a vital water source to stop a large fire sweeping the village. It was replaced in 1926 by 200,000 gallon tank. It lasted until the end of steam but was demolished in the early 1960s. Concrete footings remain.
